Salted pod kit IQOS in Maputo: the flat shortlist
Salted in Maputo: 12 units tested over 4 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Ordering IQOS to Maputo: the practical version
We run salted the same way in Maputo: same pod kit, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
A salted pod kit from the flat-rate options in Mozambique costs about MT2.25 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: salted in Maputo works if the pod kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a salted pod kit really costs in Maputo
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested salted in a pod kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a salted bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every salted bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where salted goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long salted in Maputo survives.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Mixing salted with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
How long does salted in a pod kit last?
In Maputo we measured 4 to 12 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Do you ship tracked orders to Mozambique?
Yes, tracked to 7–14 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
