Salted pen device IQOS in Maputo: the online shortlist
Salted in Maputo: 13 units tested over 2 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How to tell a good pen device from a repack
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
The honest read on salted: 13 units through the same routine over 2 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Below is the run we did for this search: 13 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a salted pen device really costs in Maputo
If you are looking at salted in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pen device you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested salted in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every salted bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Batch code and production date, so a salted bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
Where salted goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Treating the advertised MT36 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.78 per 10 ml.
- Mixing salted with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Packaging for salted in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On salted the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT2.78 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
How much does a pen device cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.78 per 10 ml liquid plus MT36 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
