Plum RDA IQOS in Maputo: the order shortlist
Plum in Maputo: 8 units tested over 8 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Where buyers go wrong with plum in Mozambique
Plum in a RDA is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
A plum RDA from the pre-order options in Mozambique costs about MT3.3 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: plum in Maputo works if the RDA, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plum RDA really costs in Maputo
Plum sounds like one product. It is not: a RDA running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested plum in a RDA
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the RDA, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 8 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where plum goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plum tastes flat after two days.
- Mixing plum with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On plum the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT3.3 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
Is plum legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Why does plum taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the plum blend itself harsh.
