Plum RDA IQOS in Maputo: the compare shortlist
Plum in Maputo: 6 units tested over 7 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What the label on Plum is allowed to say
A plum RDA from the compared options in Mozambique costs about MT1.68 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The honest read on plum: 6 units through the same routine over 7 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: plum in Maputo works if the RDA, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plum RDA really costs in Maputo
We run plum the same way in Maputo: same RDA, same 7 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested plum in a RDA
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for RDA in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where plum goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest RDA available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plum tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Packaging for plum in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On plum the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT1.68 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
Do you ship tracked orders to Mozambique?
Yes, tracked to 7–14 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
Why does plum taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the plum blend itself harsh.
