Plum 30 ml shortfill IQOS in Maputo: the guide shortlist
Plum in Maputo: 24 units tested over 7 weeks, 30 ml shortfill formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How we tested Plum 30 ml shortfill here
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Plum prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.52 per 10 ml.
The short version: plum in Maputo works if the 30 ml shortfill, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plum 30 ml shortfill really costs in Maputo
A plum 30 ml shortfill from the starter options in Mozambique costs about MT2.52 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested plum in a 30 ml shortfill
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plum bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 30 ml shortfill arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
Where plum goes wrong
- Mixing plum with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Treating the advertised MT60 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.52 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Why does plum taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the 30 ml shortfill units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the plum blend itself harsh.
