How we tested Plain squonk mod here
The honest read on plain: 23 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Ordering into Maputo usually means waiting 7–14 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
If you only read one line: the squonk mod you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain squonk mod really costs in Maputo
Ordering into Maputo usually means waiting 7–14 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested plain in a squonk mod
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a squonk mod arrives sealed but wrong.
Where plain goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plain tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest squonk mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Treating the advertised MT45 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT3.52 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should plain start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a squonk mod.
Why does plain taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the plain blend itself harsh.
How long does plain in a squonk mod last?
In Maputo we measured 9 to 23 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
