Plain refill pack IQOS in Maputo: the online shortlist
Plain in Maputo: 10 units tested over 3 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How we tested Plain refill pack here
Plain sounds like one product. It is not: a refill pack running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
We run plain the same way in Maputo: same refill pack, same 3 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: plain in Maputo works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plain refill pack really costs in Maputo
A plain refill pack from the online options in Mozambique costs about MT2.4 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested plain in a refill pack
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a refill pack arrives sealed but wrong.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where plain goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a refill pack and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to Mozambique?
Yes, tracked to 7–14 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
How much does a refill pack cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.4 per 10 ml liquid plus MT33 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does plain taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the plain blend itself harsh.
