Plain pod kit IQOS in Maputo: the cheap shortlist
Plain in Maputo: 7 units tested over 4 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How to tell a good pod kit from a repack
Plain pod kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 7 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
We run plain the same way in Maputo: same pod kit, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain pod kit really costs in Maputo
If you are looking at plain in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pod kit you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested plain in a pod kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pod kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plain bottle shipped into Mozambique.
Where plain goes wrong
- Mixing plain with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a pod kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plain tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for plain in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Why does plain taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the plain blend itself harsh.
How long does plain in a pod kit last?
In Maputo we measured 4 to 7 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Can I order IQOS online in Mozambique?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 7–14 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
