Plain pen device IQOS in Maputo: the compare shortlist
Plain in Maputo: 18 units tested over 9 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a pen device for plain
Ordering into Maputo usually means waiting 7–14 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
The honest read on plain: 18 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain pen device really costs in Maputo
Plain pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 18 units and 9 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested plain in a pen device
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plain bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Stock depth: 18 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
Where plain goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised MT68 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT1.75 per 10 ml.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should plain start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pen device.
How long does plain in a pen device last?
In Maputo we measured 9 to 18 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On plain the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT1.75 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
