Plain cartomizer IQOS in Maputo: the guide shortlist
Plain in Maputo: 20 units tested over 2 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
Plain in Maputo reaches the shelf in cartomizer formats, and the starter ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Plain cartomizer reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 20 units and 2 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you only read one line: the cartomizer you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain cartomizer really costs in Maputo
Plain cartomizer reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 20 units and 2 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested plain in a cartomizer
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plain bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where plain goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long plain in Maputo survives.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plain tastes flat after two days.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for plain in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Is plain legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Why does plain taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the plain blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should plain start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a cartomizer.
