Plain cartomizer IQOS in Maputo: the compare shortlist
Plain in Maputo: 7 units tested over 9 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Delivery, returns and what 7–14 business days really means
Plain in Maputo reaches the shelf in cartomizer formats, and the compared ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Plain cartomizer reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 7 units and 9 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The short version: plain in Maputo works if the cartomizer, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plain cartomizer really costs in Maputo
Plain prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.66 per 10 ml.
How we tested plain in a cartomizer
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plain bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Spare parts availability for cartomizer in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
Where plain goes wrong
- Mixing plain with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plain tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest cartomizer available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
Why does plain taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the plain blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should plain start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a cartomizer.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On plain the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT2.66 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
