Plain box mod IQOS in Maputo: the order shortlist
Plain in Maputo: 16 units tested over 9 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How we tested Plain box mod here
Plain in a box mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
We run plain the same way in Maputo: same box mod, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Below is the run we did for this search: 16 units, box mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a plain box mod really costs in Maputo
Plain sounds like one product. It is not: a box mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested plain in a box mod
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Stock depth: 16 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plain bottle shipped into Mozambique.
Where plain goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plain tastes flat after two days.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

| Entry kit | MT31 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.41 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |
