Pear starter kit IQOS in Maputo: the deals shortlist
Pear in Maputo: 17 units tested over 9 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How to tell a good starter kit from a repack
Pear in a starter kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
We run pear the same way in Maputo: same starter kit, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the starter kit you buy decides how long pear tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a pear starter kit really costs in Maputo
Pear starter kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 17 units and 9 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested pear in a starter kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a pear bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where pear goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT59 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT1.75 per 10 ml.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long pear in Maputo survives.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why pear tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Why does pear taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the pear blend itself harsh.
How much does a starter kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT1.75 per 10 ml liquid plus MT59 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
