Mint prefilled pod IQOS in Maputo: the deals shortlist
Mint in Maputo: 10 units tested over 9 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Coil life, liquid cost and the mint habit
Mint sounds like one product. It is not: a prefilled pod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
The honest read on mint: 10 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: mint in Maputo works if the prefilled pod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a mint prefilled pod really costs in Maputo
We run mint the same way in Maputo: same prefilled pod, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested mint in a prefilled pod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Stock depth: 10 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the prefilled pod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for prefilled pod in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a prefilled pod arrives sealed but wrong.
Where mint goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Mixing mint with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised MT64 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.72 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
| What it is | This page | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Flavour | Mint | Decides coil choice more than strength does |
| Format | prefilled pod | Sets how much liquid you are actually buying |
| Stock checked | 10 lines | Batch-traced, dated production runs only |
| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Mozambique |
| Coil life | ~5 days | The hidden monthly cost |
| Delivery to Mozambique | 7–14 business days | Buffer the reorder around this |
| Entry kit | MT64 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.72 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
Why does mint taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the prefilled pod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the mint blend itself harsh.
How long does mint in a prefilled pod last?
In Maputo we measured 9 to 10 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should mint start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a prefilled pod.
