Melon pen device IQOS in Maputo: the review shortlist
Melon in Maputo: 21 units tested over 9 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Coil life, liquid cost and the melon habit
The honest read on melon: 21 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Melon in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long melon tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a melon pen device really costs in Maputo
Melon sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested melon in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where melon goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why melon tastes flat after two days.
- Treating the advertised MT37 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.18 per 10 ml.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

| Entry kit | MT37 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.18 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
Why does melon taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the melon blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should melon start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pen device.
How long does melon in a pen device last?
In Maputo we measured 9 to 21 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
