Lime pen device IQOS in Maputo: the cheap shortlist
Lime in Maputo: 9 units tested over 5 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What the label on Lime is allowed to say
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
A lime pen device from the cheapest options in Mozambique costs about MT3.57 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: lime in Maputo works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a lime pen device really costs in Maputo
Lime sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested lime in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every lime bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where lime goes wrong
- Mixing lime with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long lime in Maputo survives.
- Treating the advertised MT56 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT3.57 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On lime the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT3.57 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
Why does lime taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the lime blend itself harsh.
