Licorice pen device IQOS in Maputo: the online shortlist
Licorice in Maputo: 12 units tested over 9 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a pen device for licorice
Licorice in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Ordering into Maputo usually means waiting 7–14 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
Below is the run we did for this search: 12 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a licorice pen device really costs in Maputo

How we tested licorice in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT57 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT1.99 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing licorice with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for licorice in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Why does licorice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the licorice blend itself harsh.
Is licorice legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
How long does licorice in a pen device last?
In Maputo we measured 9 to 12 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
