Licorice cartomizer IQOS in Maputo: the deals shortlist
Licorice in Maputo: 6 units tested over 9 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What licorice costs in Maputo
Licorice in a cartomizer is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
A licorice cartomizer from the discounted options in Mozambique costs about MT3.36 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the cartomizer you buy decides how long licorice tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a licorice cartomizer really costs in Maputo
We run licorice the same way in Maputo: same cartomizer, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested licorice in a cartomizer
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Buying the cheapest cartomizer available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Packaging for licorice in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
How long does licorice in a cartomizer last?
In Maputo we measured 9 to 6 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
How much does a cartomizer cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT3.36 per 10 ml liquid plus MT34 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
What nicotine strength should licorice start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a cartomizer.
