Lemon starter kit IQOS in Maputo: the cheap shortlist
Lemon in Maputo: 9 units tested over 6 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Coil life, liquid cost and the lemon habit
Lemon in a starter kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Lemon prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.63 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 9 units, starter kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a lemon starter kit really costs in Maputo
If you are looking at lemon in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the starter kit you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested lemon in a starter kit
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- Stock depth: 9 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where lemon goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why lemon tastes flat after two days.
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

|---|---|---|
| Flavour | Lemon | Decides coil choice more than strength does |
| Format | starter kit | Sets how much liquid you are actually buying |
| Stock checked | 9 lines | Batch-traced, dated production runs only |
| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Mozambique |
| Coil life | ~5 days | The hidden monthly cost |
| Delivery to Mozambique | 7–14 business days | Buffer the reorder around this |
| Entry kit | MT58 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.63 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
How long does lemon in a starter kit last?
In Maputo we measured 6 to 9 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should lemon start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a starter kit.
How much does a starter kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.63 per 10 ml liquid plus MT58 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
