Iced pen device IQOS in Maputo: the flat shortlist
Iced in Maputo: 9 units tested over 8 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Where buyers go wrong with iced in Mozambique
If you are looking at iced in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pen device you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Iced prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.42 per 10 ml.
The short version: iced in Maputo works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a iced pen device really costs in Maputo
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested iced in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every iced bottle shipped into Mozambique.
Where iced goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On iced the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT2.42 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.

Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 7–14 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.

In Maputo we measured 8 to 9 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
