Iced cartomizer IQOS in Maputo: the deals shortlist
Iced in Maputo: 19 units tested over 7 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a cartomizer for iced
Iced in Maputo reaches the shelf in cartomizer formats, and the discounted ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Iced in a cartomizer is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The short version: iced in Maputo works if the cartomizer, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a iced cartomizer really costs in Maputo
If you are looking at iced in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the cartomizer you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested iced in a cartomizer
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Stock depth: 19 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a iced bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every iced bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where iced goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Buying the cheapest cartomizer available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing iced with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
| What it is | This page | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Flavour | Iced | Decides coil choice more than strength does |
| Format | cartomizer | Sets how much liquid you are actually buying |
| Stock checked | 19 lines | Batch-traced, dated production runs only |
| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Mozambique |
| Coil life | ~7 days | The hidden monthly cost |
| Delivery to Mozambique | 7–14 business days | Buffer the reorder around this |
| Entry kit | MT30 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.22 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
How long does iced in a cartomizer last?
In Maputo we measured 7 to 19 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
How much does a cartomizer cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.22 per 10 ml liquid plus MT30 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does iced taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the iced blend itself harsh.
