Honey pen device IQOS in Maputo: the price shortlist
Honey in Maputo: 6 units tested over 4 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Coil life, liquid cost and the honey habit
Honey prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.05 per 10 ml.
Honey in Maputo reaches the shelf in pen device formats, and the value ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long honey tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a honey pen device really costs in Maputo
We run honey the same way in Maputo: same pen device, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested honey in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every honey bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where honey goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why honey tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Packaging for honey in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

| Entry kit | MT50 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.05 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |
