Herbal squonk mod IQOS in Maputo: the guide shortlist
Herbal in Maputo: 12 units tested over 9 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Coil life, liquid cost and the herbal habit
A herbal squonk mod from the starter options in Mozambique costs about MT2.53 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
We run herbal the same way in Maputo: same squonk mod, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the squonk mod you buy decides how long herbal tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a herbal squonk mod really costs in Maputo
Herbal prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.53 per 10 ml.
How we tested herbal in a squonk mod
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a herbal bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every herbal bottle shipped into Mozambique.
Where herbal goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT38 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.53 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why herbal tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a squonk mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
