Guava RDA IQOS in Maputo: the flat shortlist
Guava in Maputo: 16 units tested over 5 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a RDA for guava
A guava RDA from the flat-rate options in Mozambique costs about MT2.49 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
We run guava the same way in Maputo: same RDA, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: guava in Maputo works if the RDA, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a guava RDA really costs in Maputo
A guava RDA from the flat-rate options in Mozambique costs about MT2.49 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested guava in a RDA
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every guava bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a RDA arrives sealed but wrong.
- Stock depth: 16 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where guava goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why guava tastes flat after two days.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Chasing a discount on a RDA that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
| What it is | This page | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Flavour | Guava | Decides coil choice more than strength does |
| Format | RDA | Sets how much liquid you are actually buying |
| Stock checked | 16 lines | Batch-traced, dated production runs only |
| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Mozambique |
| Coil life | ~7 days | The hidden monthly cost |
| Delivery to Mozambique | 7–14 business days | Buffer the reorder around this |
| Entry kit | MT34 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.49 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
How long does guava in a RDA last?
In Maputo we measured 5 to 16 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is guava legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Why does guava taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the guava blend itself harsh.
