Graphite starter kit IQOS in Maputo: the flat shortlist
Graphite in Maputo: 20 units tested over 5 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How we tested Graphite starter kit here
Ordering into Maputo usually means waiting 7–14 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
A graphite starter kit from the flat-rate options in Mozambique costs about MT2.56 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: graphite in Maputo works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a graphite starter kit really costs in Maputo
We run graphite the same way in Maputo: same starter kit, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested graphite in a starter kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Batch code and production date, so a graphite bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every graphite bottle shipped into Mozambique.
Where graphite goes wrong
- Mixing graphite with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised MT58 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.56 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
Why does graphite taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the graphite blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should graphite start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a starter kit.
