Graphite pen device IQOS in Maputo: the guide shortlist
Graphite in Maputo: 7 units tested over 6 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Delivery, returns and what 7–14 business days really means
Graphite prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.43 per 10 ml.
We run graphite the same way in Maputo: same pen device, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long graphite tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a graphite pen device really costs in Maputo
A graphite pen device from the starter options in Mozambique costs about MT2.43 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested graphite in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 7 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a graphite bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where graphite goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long graphite in Maputo survives.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Mixing graphite with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
