Home / Graphite pen device IQOS in Maputo: the cheap shortlist

Coil life, liquid cost and the graphite habit

Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.

The honest read on graphite: 6 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.

If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long graphite tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

What a graphite pen device really costs in Maputo

We run graphite the same way in Maputo: same pen device, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.

How we tested graphite in a pen device

1. Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
2. Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
3. Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.

• Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every graphite bottle shipped into Mozambique.
• The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
• Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
• Batch code and production date, so a graphite bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.

Where graphite goes wrong

• Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
• Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
• Mixing graphite with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.

The rules that apply here

Packaging for graphite in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
