Graphite cartomizer IQOS in Maputo: the cheap shortlist
Graphite in Maputo: 16 units tested over 7 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a cartomizer for graphite
Graphite in a cartomizer is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.

If you only read one line: the cartomizer you buy decides how long graphite tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a graphite cartomizer really costs in Maputo
Graphite prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.48 per 10 ml.
How we tested graphite in a cartomizer
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 16 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
Where graphite goes wrong
- Mixing graphite with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why graphite tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Why does graphite taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the graphite blend itself harsh.
Is graphite legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
How long does graphite in a cartomizer last?
In Maputo we measured 7 to 16 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
