Frozen prefilled pod IQOS in Maputo: the flat shortlist
Frozen in Maputo: 13 units tested over 6 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a prefilled pod for frozen
Frozen in a prefilled pod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Frozen prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT1.88 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 13 units, prefilled pod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a frozen prefilled pod really costs in Maputo
If you are looking at frozen in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the prefilled pod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested frozen in a prefilled pod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every frozen bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Stock depth: 13 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where frozen goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT66 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT1.88 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why frozen tastes flat after two days.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for frozen in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
