Frozen mesh tank IQOS in Maputo: the compare shortlist
Frozen in Maputo: 22 units tested over 4 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How we tested Frozen mesh tank here
Frozen prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.09 per 10 ml.
If you are looking at frozen in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the mesh tank you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
The short version: frozen in Maputo works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a frozen mesh tank really costs in Maputo
If you are looking at frozen in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the mesh tank you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested frozen in a mesh tank
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a mesh tank arrives sealed but wrong.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every frozen bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Coil type inside the mesh tank, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where frozen goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a mesh tank that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why frozen tastes flat after two days.
- Treating the advertised MT59 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.09 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a mesh tank cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.09 per 10 ml liquid plus MT59 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Can I order IQOS online in Mozambique?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 7–14 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
Why does frozen taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the frozen blend itself harsh.
