Frozen cartomizer IQOS in Maputo: the budget shortlist
Frozen in Maputo: 19 units tested over 8 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How to tell a good cartomizer from a repack
Ordering into Maputo usually means waiting 7–14 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
The honest read on frozen: 19 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: frozen in Maputo works if the cartomizer, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a frozen cartomizer really costs in Maputo
The honest read on frozen: 19 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested frozen in a cartomizer
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a frozen bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 19 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where frozen goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT54 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.13 per 10 ml.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long frozen in Maputo survives.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Packaging for frozen in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should frozen start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a cartomizer.
How long does frozen in a cartomizer last?
In Maputo we measured 8 to 19 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is frozen legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
