Fig pen device IQOS in Maputo: the price shortlist
Fig in Maputo: 16 units tested over 8 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What the label on Fig is allowed to say
Fig pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 16 units and 8 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Fig prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.09 per 10 ml.
The short version: fig in Maputo works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a fig pen device really costs in Maputo
Fig sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested fig in a pen device
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Stock depth: 16 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Batch code and production date, so a fig bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where fig goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
