Fig pen device IQOS in Maputo: the online shortlist
Fig in Maputo: 10 units tested over 6 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Ordering IQOS to Maputo: the practical version
Fig prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT3.59 per 10 ml.
We run fig the same way in Maputo: same pen device, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: fig in Maputo works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a fig pen device really costs in Maputo
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested fig in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a fig bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where fig goes wrong
- Mixing fig with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
