Dessert box mod IQOS in Maputo: the compare shortlist
Dessert in Maputo: 15 units tested over 9 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How we tested Dessert box mod here
The honest read on dessert: 15 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The short version: dessert in Maputo works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a dessert box mod really costs in Maputo
Dessert in a box mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested dessert in a box mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every dessert bottle shipped into Mozambique.
Where dessert goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why dessert tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
| What it is | This page | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|

| Stock checked | 15 lines | Batch-traced, dated production runs only |
| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Mozambique |
| Coil life | ~6 days | The hidden monthly cost |
| Delivery to Mozambique | 7–14 business days | Buffer the reorder around this |
| Entry kit | MT49 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.15 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should dessert start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
Why does dessert taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the dessert blend itself harsh.
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.15 per 10 ml liquid plus MT49 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
