Cream box mod IQOS in Maputo: the compare shortlist
Cream in Maputo: 23 units tested over 3 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Where buyers go wrong with cream in Mozambique
We run cream the same way in Maputo: same box mod, same 3 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Cream in Maputo reaches the shelf in box mod formats, and the compared ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long cream tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a cream box mod really costs in Maputo
Cream prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.94 per 10 ml.
How we tested cream in a box mod
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a cream bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 23 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where cream goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised MT62 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.94 per 10 ml.
- Mixing cream with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

|---|---|---|
| Flavour | Cream | Decides coil choice more than strength does |

| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Mozambique |
| Coil life | ~5 days | The hidden monthly cost |

| Entry kit | MT62 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.94 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should cream start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On cream the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT2.94 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
Why does cream taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the cream blend itself harsh.
