Cola pod kit IQOS in Maputo: the budget shortlist
Cola in Maputo: 9 units tested over 3 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
How we tested Cola pod kit here
Cola in a pod kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you are looking at cola in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pod kit you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long cola tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a cola pod kit really costs in Maputo
Cola in Maputo reaches the shelf in pod kit formats, and the budget ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested cola in a pod kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every cola bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Stock depth: 9 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for pod kit in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where cola goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a pod kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Mixing cola with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why cola tastes flat after two days.

Frequently asked questions
How long does cola in a pod kit last?
In Maputo we measured 3 to 9 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does cola taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the cola blend itself harsh.
How much does a pod kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.29 per 10 ml liquid plus MT49 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
