Coffee cartomizer IQOS in Maputo: the price shortlist
Coffee in Maputo: 13 units tested over 2 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What coffee costs in Maputo
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Coffee sounds like one product. It is not: a cartomizer running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Below is the run we did for this search: 13 units, cartomizer, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a coffee cartomizer really costs in Maputo
A coffee cartomizer from the value options in Mozambique costs about MT3.49 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested coffee in a cartomizer
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a cartomizer arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a coffee bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where coffee goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised MT50 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT3.49 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a cartomizer cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT3.49 per 10 ml liquid plus MT50 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does coffee taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the coffee blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On coffee the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT3.49 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
