Coffee cartomizer IQOS in Maputo: the compare shortlist
Coffee in Maputo: 6 units tested over 8 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Coil life, liquid cost and the coffee habit
Coffee cartomizer reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 6 units and 8 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Coffee prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT3.11 per 10 ml.
The short version: coffee in Maputo works if the cartomizer, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a coffee cartomizer really costs in Maputo
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested coffee in a cartomizer
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a cartomizer arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every coffee bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
Where coffee goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long coffee in Maputo survives.
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised MT61 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT3.11 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
