Coconut pod kit IQOS in Maputo: the online shortlist
Coconut in Maputo: 21 units tested over 5 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Where buyers go wrong with coconut in Mozambique
Coconut in Maputo reaches the shelf in pod kit formats, and the online ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Coconut prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.89 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long coconut tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a coconut pod kit really costs in Maputo
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested coconut in a pod kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Coil type inside the pod kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pod kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- Stock depth: 21 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a coconut bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where coconut goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long coconut in Maputo survives.
- Buying the cheapest pod kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Treating the advertised MT35 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.89 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.

How much does a pod kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT2.89 per 10 ml liquid plus MT35 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does coconut taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the coconut blend itself harsh.
