Coconut box mod IQOS in Maputo: the deals shortlist
Coconut in Maputo: 8 units tested over 4 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Where buyers go wrong with coconut in Mozambique
A coconut box mod from the discounted options in Mozambique costs about MT3.55 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Coconut in a box mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long coconut tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

How we tested coconut in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a coconut bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where coconut goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why coconut tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Wholesale lines to Mozambique need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
