Citrus starter kit IQOS in Maputo: the review shortlist
Citrus in Maputo: 16 units tested over 8 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Delivery, returns and what 7–14 business days really means
The honest read on citrus: 16 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
A citrus starter kit from the reviewed options in Mozambique costs about MT2.28 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: citrus in Maputo works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a citrus starter kit really costs in Maputo
Citrus prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.28 per 10 ml.
How we tested citrus in a starter kit
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Stock depth: 16 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Mixing citrus with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Buying the cheapest starter kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.

Frequently asked questions
Why does citrus taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the citrus blend itself harsh.
How long does citrus in a starter kit last?
In Maputo we measured 8 to 16 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is citrus legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
