Citrus starter kit IQOS in Maputo: the price shortlist
Citrus in Maputo: 17 units tested over 9 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a starter kit for citrus
A citrus starter kit from the value options in Mozambique costs about MT2.06 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Citrus starter kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 17 units and 9 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The short version: citrus in Maputo works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a citrus starter kit really costs in Maputo
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested citrus in a starter kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long citrus in Maputo survives.
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Buying the cheapest starter kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Is citrus legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On citrus the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT2.06 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
Why does citrus taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the citrus blend itself harsh.
