Citrus starter kit IQOS in Maputo: the guide shortlist
Citrus in Maputo: 20 units tested over 4 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Coil life, liquid cost and the citrus habit
We run citrus the same way in Maputo: same starter kit, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The short version: citrus in Maputo works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a citrus starter kit really costs in Maputo
Citrus in a starter kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested citrus in a starter kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
- Stock depth: 20 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why citrus tastes flat after two days.
- Treating the advertised MT35 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.32 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest starter kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Packaging for citrus in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
| What it is | This page | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Flavour | Citrus | Decides coil choice more than strength does |
| Format | starter kit | Sets how much liquid you are actually buying |
| Stock checked | 20 lines | Batch-traced, dated production runs only |
| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Mozambique |
| Coil life | ~7 days | The hidden monthly cost |
| Delivery to Mozambique | 7–14 business days | Buffer the reorder around this |
| Entry kit | MT35 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT2.32 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On citrus the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT2.32 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
What nicotine strength should citrus start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a starter kit.
Can I order IQOS online in Mozambique?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 7–14 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
