Citrus starter kit IQOS in Maputo: the flat shortlist
Citrus in Maputo: 17 units tested over 6 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
Citrus prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.02 per 10 ml.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The short version: citrus in Maputo works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a citrus starter kit really costs in Maputo
A citrus starter kit from the flat-rate options in Mozambique costs about MT2.02 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested citrus in a starter kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Batch code and production date, so a citrus bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Mixing citrus with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised MT40 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT2.02 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Can I order IQOS online in Mozambique?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 7–14 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On citrus the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT2.02 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
How long does citrus in a starter kit last?
In Maputo we measured 6 to 17 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
