Citrus squonk mod IQOS in Maputo: the guide shortlist
Citrus in Maputo: 12 units tested over 8 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What citrus costs in Maputo
We run citrus the same way in Maputo: same squonk mod, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Citrus prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT3.09 per 10 ml.
The short version: citrus in Maputo works if the squonk mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a citrus squonk mod really costs in Maputo
We run citrus the same way in Maputo: same squonk mod, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested citrus in a squonk mod
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a citrus bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Mozambique accept nicotine freight.
- Mixing citrus with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ignoring the batch date on a squonk mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Packaging for citrus in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Mozambique |
| Coil life | ~5 days | The hidden monthly cost |

| Entry kit | MT45 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT3.09 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
Why does citrus taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the citrus blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should citrus start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a squonk mod.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On citrus the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT3.09 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
