Citrus pod kit IQOS in Maputo: the cheap shortlist
Citrus in Maputo: 7 units tested over 8 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What the label on Citrus is allowed to say
Most people searching IQOS in Mozambique are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Citrus in a pod kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Below is the run we did for this search: 7 units, pod kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a citrus pod kit really costs in Maputo
We run citrus the same way in Maputo: same pod kit, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested citrus in a pod kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Stock depth: 7 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every citrus bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pod kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a citrus bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long citrus in Maputo survives.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why citrus tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pod kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
Why does citrus taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the citrus blend itself harsh.
How much does a pod kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Maputo: about MT3.31 per 10 ml liquid plus MT33 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On citrus the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT3.31 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
