Citrus cartomizer IQOS in Maputo: the flat shortlist
Citrus in Maputo: 6 units tested over 2 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Where buyers go wrong with citrus in Mozambique
Citrus prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT1.67 per 10 ml.
Citrus sounds like one product. It is not: a cartomizer running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Below is the run we did for this search: 6 units, cartomizer, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a citrus cartomizer really costs in Maputo
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Mozambique. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested citrus in a cartomizer
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Mozambique, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every citrus bottle shipped into Mozambique.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a cartomizer arrives sealed but wrong.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Treating the advertised MT50 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT1.67 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest cartomizer available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for citrus in Mozambique must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

| Entry kit | MT50 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | MT1.67 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
Why does citrus taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the citrus blend itself harsh.
Is citrus legal to sell in Mozambique?
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On citrus the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT1.67 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
