Cherry prefilled pod IQOS in Maputo: the flat shortlist
Cherry in Maputo: 20 units tested over 2 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
Choosing a prefilled pod for cherry
Cherry prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT2.11 per 10 ml.
Cherry in a prefilled pod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Maputo the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the prefilled pod you buy decides how long cherry tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a cherry prefilled pod really costs in Maputo
We run cherry the same way in Maputo: same prefilled pod, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested cherry in a prefilled pod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a prefilled pod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Stock depth: 20 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every cherry bottle shipped into Mozambique.
Where cherry goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a prefilled pod that then needs an adapter nobody in Mozambique stocks.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long cherry in Maputo survives.
The rules that apply here
Mozambique is an emerging channel with limited retail infrastructure. Shipping of nicotine to Mozambique runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Retail sales in Mozambique sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Why does cherry taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the prefilled pod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the cherry blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should cherry start at?
Start at whatever Mozambique allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a prefilled pod.
Do you ship tracked orders to Mozambique?
Yes, tracked to 7–14 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
