A caramel sub-ohm kit from the reviewed options in Mozambique costs about MT3.0 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Caramel prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Maputo that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within MT3.0 per 10 ml.
The short version: caramel in Maputo works if the sub-ohm kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.

How we tested caramel in a sub-ohm kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Mozambique, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 7–14 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Batch code and production date, so a caramel bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Spare parts availability for sub-ohm kit in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ignoring the batch date on a sub-ohm kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised MT42 entry kit as the real cost when refills run MT3.0 per 10 ml.

On the last run in Maputo: about MT3.0 per 10 ml liquid plus MT42 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does caramel taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the sub-ohm kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the caramel blend itself harsh.
