Caramel squonk mod IQOS in Maputo: the compare shortlist
Caramel in Maputo: 22 units tested over 9 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Mozambique.
What caramel costs in Maputo
We run caramel the same way in Maputo: same squonk mod, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you are looking at caramel in Mozambique, the first question is not strength. It is whether the squonk mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
If you only read one line: the squonk mod you buy decides how long caramel tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a caramel squonk mod really costs in Maputo
Caramel sounds like one product. It is not: a squonk mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested caramel in a squonk mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 7–14 business days.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a squonk mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for squonk mod in Mozambique, since tanks and pods go first.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long caramel in Maputo survives.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Mixing caramel with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.

Frequently asked questions
Why does caramel taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the caramel blend itself harsh.
How long does caramel in a squonk mod last?
In Maputo we measured 9 to 22 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On caramel the budget price and the premium price can sit within MT3.5 per 10 ml once 7–14 business days is counted.
